Langenkamp Attaches Self to New Hellraiser

Yes, Hellraiser fans…there will be another entry in the series and it’s shooting next month according to our sources.

Better yet, Heather Langenkamp from Nightmare on Elm Street (our sources) attaches herself to it in a recent interview with Scaretissue.com.  “I actually have an opportunity to play a small part in Hellraiser (The NEW Hellraiser).  I’m so excited about it.  I go next week to do the shooting…” she said.  “The script is amazing and that I got the part is something that I find incredible.”

Langenkamp was gracious enough to take the time to talk to us regarding her latest movie Home.  She plays Heather, a recently divorced/newlywed mother struggling to make a life with her new family as her daughter struggles with a possible supernatural presence in their new home.  It stars Langenkamp, Samantha Mumba, Kerry Knuppe, and Allesandra Shelby Farmer.  Langenkamp is legendary as Nancy Thompson in Nightmare on Elm Street and for playing herself in Wes Craven’s New Nightmare.  Behind the scenes, Langenkamp is  a very accomplished makeup artist and special effects master.  You’ve seen her work in American Horror Story, Cabin in the Woods, and Scream Queens.

The unexpected bombshell came towards the end of the 30 minute interview. Langenkamp reveals the project, and without skipping a beat, reveals who the director will be.  “It’s Gary Tunnicliffe who did all the makeup for all these years.  They gave him an opportunity to direct the movie.  I think it’s going to be pretty outstanding.”

While there is nothing “officially shooting” under the working title of Hellraiser, filmmakers are notorious for attaching unofficial names to projects to cloud the them from prying eyes.  A quick Google search reveals a few candidates (including a film that begins shooting next week that is “in association with Puzzle Box Returns Inc.”) that may be the “New Hellraiser”.
