Clive Barker’s Jacqueline Ess Movie in the Works

We’ve already posted two news pieces tonight in regards to Clive Barker’s line of work, looks like three is a charm. Game of Thrones actress Lena Headey will star in the movie version of horror icon Clive Barker’s Jacqueline Ess. It originally appeared in Barker’s “Books of Blood” anthologies, which also included the stories that were basis for the horror films Lord of Illusions and Candyman.

Boom! To Release Hellraiser Anthology Series

Bloody-Disgusting has exclusively reported: BOOM! has announced the launch of a brand new six-issue limited anthology series “Hellraiser: Bestiary” in August. The series will feature short stories set in the Hellraiser universe written by Mark Alan Miller and Ben Meares (who work with Barker at Seraphim Films), as well as Victor LaValle (The Devil in Silver), Michael Moreci (Curse), and Ed Brisson (Sheltered).

New Last of Us DLC Out This Week

The third and final batch of DLC for The Last of Us is scheduled to arrive this week on PS3. Ahead of its imminent release, Sony has released a new trailer that shows off the four new multiplayer maps the Reclaimed Territories pack will bring with it, including Wharf, Capitol, Coal Mine, and Water Tower. You have a few options here: you can get all of it with the season pass, which Sony will discontinue on May 13, or you can purchase them individually

Stephen King’s Bad Little Kid Does Hoodrat Things, Gets Big Screen Treatment

Stephen King recently wrote a short story entitled, Bad Little Kid, it has recently been reported that Laurent Bouzereau and his production company Nedland Media, Inc., has optioned the story for a feature film. Bouzereau, who is also planning on directing the film, wrote and directed the 2011 film A Night at the Movies: The Horrors of Stephen King, which featured King discussing horror films and their popularity with moviegoers.

Maniac Cop Gets Remake

With just about a week until the upcoming Cannes market, Wild Bunch has revealed they will be producing a remake of William Lustig’s 1988 cult classic Maniac Cop. ScreenDaily is reporting; the production is spearheaded by Danish filmmaker Nicolas Winding Refn, who is producing alongside Wild Bunch, and Lustig, director of the original.
