The RZP Filmes is releasing the first trailer for the new psychological horror short film by Joel Caetano Arapuca
In Arapuca we follow the daily life of Marcos, a man who returns to his old home to take care of his father, an elderly man who is in an advanced stage of a degenerative disease that deprives him of seeing clearly the reality around him. Marcos is unable to communicate with his father and this invisibility is slowly corrupting him, mainly because it prevents him from finding answers to something that has bothered him for a long time in the relationship between the two.
The film also features Daniel de Almeida (Poliana Moça, Tarã) Everton Frank, Rodrigo Ramos, Isabel Wolfeson (Auto Posto) among others.
The screenplay is by Joel Caetano, the photography direction is by Thiago Amaral and the executive production by Éder Formigoni and Mariana Zani.
The film will be released on the festival circuit in the second half of 2023
Joel Caetano is director, screenwriter and actor of award-winning short films such as “CAT” (2009), “ENCOSTO” (2013), “JUDAS” (2015), “CASULOS” (2017), “INSIDE” (2018), ” SCRATCHES” (2018), “Human Grave” (2019) and “Missão Berço Esplêndido” (2021) which were screened at hundreds of festivals around the world. He is also co-director of the anthology feature film “The Black Fables” (2015) which has names like Rodrigo Aragão, Petter Baiestorf and José Mojica Marins, our eternal Coffin Joe.
