Fear Clinic, the 2009 web series starring Robert Englund, officially begins shooting in Ohio this week.
I first discovered Fear Clinic about a month ago. Immediately, I watched all five episodes and I was hooked. Robert Englund plays Dr. Andover, a world renown doctor that specializes in helping his patients face their fears. He has this twisted chamber that looks like a coffin with a see through head piece covering that the patients enter to be subjected to their worst phobias. It co-starred Danielle Harris (Halloween and Hatchet fame) and Kane Hodder (Jason and Victor Crowley), but they will not be reprising their roles on the full screen adaptation.
The film has been co-written by Aaron Drane and Robert Hall. Drane wrote and produced the 2009 series, while Hall (a veteran make up artist) directed. Hall had previously directed Lightning Bug (2005, which he also wrote) and Laid to Rest (2009). Both are considered underground hits, and Laid to Rest is known for having some of the most realistic kills ever filmed. Hall is probably best known for his make up effects on such shows as Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, and Terminator: The Sarah Conner Chronicles.
The cast is as follows:
Thomas Dekker – Dekker is best known for his role as John Conner on Terminator: The Sarah Conner Chronicles and played Jesse in the 2010 version of Nightmare on Elm Street.
Fiona Dourif– Dourif is no stranger to horror. Her father is Chucky’s voice (Brad Dourif), and she is just coming off the well received Curse of Chucky. She also has had reoccurring roles in True Blood and Deadwood.
Kevin Gage – Gage is a veteran actor with credits in such films as Heat, GI Jane, Blow, and the cult horror film May (loved this film). He also voiced Gabriel Rorke (the main antagoninst) in Call of Duty: Ghosts.
Cleopatra Coleman – Cleopatra is an Australian actress best known for her role in Step Up Revolutions as a flash mob leading DJ. Her first horror role was Syfy’s Attack of the Sabertooth (2005).
Brandon Beemer – Beemer is former soap star (Days of Our Lives, Bold and the Beautiful). He is a former model, and starred in Syfy’s Beast of the Bering Sea (which premiered last month).
Bonnie Morgan – A contortionist and actress, Morgan has appeared in such horror films as The Devil Inside, Fright Night, and Piranha 3D.
Angelina Armani – Armani is reunited with Hall after 2011’s Chromeskull: Laid to Rest 2. She’s also been in Creep Van and Attack of the 50 Foot Cheerleader.
Felisha Terrell – Terrell is another soap star (Days of Our Lives) that is making the turn to horror. She played Kali on Teen Wolf (Season 3).
Corey Taylor – Taylor is the lead singer of Slipknot (one of my favorite bands to see live) and Stone Sour. He appeared in Rollerball (2002) as a band member, and I’m excited to see him step out of the mask for this role.
Fear Clinic is slated to be released October 2014. You can follow it on Twitter (@FearClinicMovie) and on Facebook (fearthecure), or get the latest news before anyone else from backtothemovies.co.uk.
Does anyone know where to find out if they are still casting for any roles or extras?
Christopher – I’m not sure, but we’ll definitely pass along any information that we run across!
I don’t think so but you are more than welcome to contact them via twitter, Facebook, (links above) or tumbler (http://fearclinicmovie.tumblr.com/).
Trapjaw ur a member on uhm, right?…didnt know u had ur own site? Nice ill definitely be checking in on this site. Oh by the way somebody spelled Kane Hodder’s name wrong yo. Anyways good job on the site! Keep up the good work.
Thanks, and yes! I love UHM. That was the first horror site that I would spend hours and hours on around about 10 years ago. Unfortunately, life got in the way and I just ran out of time to post there regularly. Apparently, the posts were all purged a few years ago and all my old stuff is gone. When I started writing here, I went back and discovered that. Sent Fright Master a PM, got caught up, and started posting a few things. Didn’t want to be too spammy though. Great site there, and glad you like this one (Thanks for that catch. I’ll fix it asap.)
