Ghostbusters: Artbook Hardcover Review

Back in January we had a story covering the newly announced Ghostbusters Artbook from Insight Editions. At the time I hadn’t even heard of this book so it wasn’t even on my radar. I’m thrilled to say I got a review copy and I was simply blown away. It’s BEAUTIFUL.

I wasn’t quite sure what I expected but this definitely blows those expectations out of the water. It’s big, it’s heavy, it’s vibrant. This is what I’d call a legit ‘coffee table book’ for those of you old enough to catch that reference.

Ghostbusters: Artbook is now available for preorder on Amazon and will be released on May 19th (the original press release had May 5th as the date but Amazon isn’t releasing until the 19th). It’s got a list price of $39.99 and in my opinion is worth every penny.

I can’t over-stress how GOOD this thing looks. There’s not a ton to read save for an intro by Jason Reitman and some small passages from the artists throughout the book. That said, if you’re a fan of Ghostbusters this should definitely be on your list. You’ll find hours of entertainment pouring through 200+ pages of previously unreleased artwork from over 170 artists.

One thing I will note… this book covers JUST the original Ghostbusters film. There’s nothing in here for Vigo the Carpathian fans and no references to the 2016 female casted Ghostbusters film either.

You can order the Ghostbusters: Artbook on Amazon.

I've been a fan of horror and slasher movies for as long as I can remember. I consider the original Halloween to be the best horror movie of all time and my guilty pleasure horror flick would be The Exorcist III.
