Mixtape Massacre - A Horror Themed Board Game!

I tweeted yesterday about a super cool Kickstarter that I ran across called Mixtape Massacre. It’s a tabletop board game where up to 6 people play as horror film archetypes and compete in a fictional 1986 killing spree to be remembered. 1980’s horror films and pop culture collide in a board game that’s all about having a “killer” time. Talk about right up our alley!

The’ve already reached their initial goal and the project has been funded so this game WILL be produced with an estimated delivery of October 2015! You can expect a review here on the site in the future as well which I’m super excited for! And even though they’ve met their initial funding goal, in this last 24 hours they want to try and push to reach some new characters via stretch goals.

Mixtape Massacre Fully Funded

Washington, DC — May 5, 2015. Bright Light Media’s latest project, Mixtape Massacre, has reached 100% funding on Kickstarter and now with it’s last days on the platform, additional funds raised will be used to add even more to the product such as additional characters and content.

Mixtape Massacre is a tabletop board game where up to 6 people play as horror film archetypes and compete in a fictional 1986 killing spree to be remembered.

Players travel the streets of Tall Oaks visiting different town locations, vying for a chance to draw a card from the Killer Scenes, Dude deck (cards decorated like VHS tapes of old), providing an opportunity to slay victims and collect souvenirs Claim your prize by rolling the action dice, marked in knives, fists, and pentagrams to the amount required on your card.

Along the way, take your chances with the Bonus Tracks cards (decorated like your favorite dusty mixtape) or engage in Brawls, where players can battle it out and eliminate one another from the game.

To win the game, be the first to rack up a body count of 10 or be the last player left alive.

With tons of jokes and references to all of your favorite 1980’s music, films, and pop-‐culture icons -‐ Mixtape Massacre will have you laughing while you’re slashing!

The Kickstarter ends May 8th at 9:55 AM EDT.

They’ve got some SUPER cool stretch goals including new characters up to and including YOU! That’s right… you can be immortalized as either the victim OR the sole survivor in this game. How cool is that?!??!
