I’m not really much of a gamer these days outside of a few mobile games. Pip yells at me all the time on the podcast about this because he knows what a lover of gaming I am. In any case, every now and then I’ll run across something that catches my attention for more than a few minutes and I’m here this morning to tell you about one such thing – Solitaire.org. I know what you’re thinking… “But Chewie… isn’t that an OLD game?” Yes… is sure is. But in addition to the classics they’ve got HUNDREDS of online games that are REALLY well done.
Right out of the gate I had to try the classics. I’m not sure about you, but I can’t tell you how many hours I spend playing the old school classic Solitaire on Windows 3.1 (yes, I ‘m showing my age). Naturally I jumped right in and spent quite a bit of time with Solitaire here. It looks GREAT and I’ve got to be honest with you… even though the rules of the game sort of are what they are, the gameplay here is far superior than I remember.
After I spent (admittedly) more time than I’d expected to, I started to branch out into some other games. Medieval Castle Hidden Numbers was remarkably fun for what it was – just find the numbers.
And then… I ran across the jackpot… EUCHRE.
I simply cannot tell you how much time I spent in high school and college playing this tremendous game. I haven’t played in decades and I fell right back into it with this version. The gameplay is solid and FAST. There really is something for everyone here. Card games, hidden object games, puzzle games or word games. If you’re looking for something to pass the time or bring you back to a simpler time, I can’t recommend Solitaire.org strongly enough.
Got a favorite online game you like to play? I’d love to hear about it. Leave me a comment below!
