Scaretissue tries to be very supportive of new and upcoming filmmakers. We love all horror films, and we try to dedicate a day of the week to short horror films. Short horror films are an often overlooked art but have inspired many successful films: Saw was based on a short. Mama was a very good short that inspired the full length feature last year. Sam Raimi made a short called Within the Woods in 1978 that was later turned into a little film called Evil Dead.
Last month, we were lucky enough to catch up with the directors and cast of the upcoming short film She (starring Fiona Dourif and Phillip James). Writers/Directors Mark Vessey and Chelsey Burdon were kind enough to answer our questions about the film, and submitted a top 10 horror list to Scaretissue (below). We expect big things from these two, and from this film. You can also see Fiona in the upcoming film Fear Clinic (which, strangely enough, just had its first trailer debut on Friday).
Mark Vessey’s Top 10 horror:
The Thing (1982)
Antichrist (2009)
Irreversible (2002)
The Shining (1980)
Perfect Blue (1997)
The Evil Dead (1981) & Evil Dead 2 (1987) – Can’t separate them
I Saw The Devil (2010)
Martyrs (2008)
A Tale Of Two Sisters (2003)
A Serbian Film (2010)
(Mark adds) I don’t find films scary in the traditional sense. True horror lies in realism for me, so this is more a list of things that made me uncomfortable, chilled or depressed me.

- Irreversible
- Men Behind the Sun
- The Girl Next Door
- Night and Fog
- Dancer in the Dark
- Grave of the Fireflies
