ST Talks Clowntown Brian Nagel,CA Signing 10/15

ClownTown (2016)Clowns.

You love them.  You hate them.  You love to hate.  Strangely enough, they’re popping up all over the horror scene this year (Rob Zombie’s 31Clown).  They’re popping up in real life.  Police all over the nation are warning people not to dress as clowns this Halloween because there are reports of real life attacks involving clowns all over this nation.

Well, one of the films out this Halloween is the indie film Clowntown.  In Clowntown, a group of friends is terrorized by a group of clowns.  The most terrifying part of the film is that it is loosely based on real events.  Clowntown is currently available on VOD and DVD.  It does feature special effects from legend Robert Kurtzman.  Tomorrow, the cast will be doing a special DVD signing at Dark Delicacies in Burbank, CA.  Please check it out!

We caught up with star Brian Nagel last week (on his honeymoon).  We talked Cleveland championships, special effects, and whether some of these clown sightings were viral marketing.

Join the actors and filmmakers for the horror film CLOWNTOWN from ITN Distribution on Saturday, Oct. 15, 2016 at 2:00pm at Dark Delicacies in Burbank ( 3512 W Magnolia Blvd.) for an in-store signing on behalf of the film’s DVD release. Writer Jeff Miller (Axe Giant: The Wrath of Paul Bunyan) and director Tom Nagel (The Retrieval”) will be on hand along with the film’s stars: Brian Nagel (Katy Perry’s “Roar”), Lauren Elise (Justin Lin’s “Help”), Andrew Staton (“Relentless”), Katie Keene (Union Furnace), Jeff Denton (The Beast of Bray Road) and Ryan PilzCLOWNTOWN is now available on Video on Demand and on DVD for an SRP of $15.00.

In CLOWNTOWN, a group of friends get stranded in a seemingly abandoned town and find themselves stalked by a gang of violent psychopaths dressed as clowns. The film is loosely inspired by the clowns who terrorized Bakersfield, Calif. in 2014.

I love horror movies, and I have since I was young. My favorite genre is the zombie genre, but it has completely been overdone in the last few years. I'm not a big fan of the horror movie formula, and I love it when a director turns it on its head.
