What Are The Best Scary Series On Netflix Right Now?

Dark Series

Sometimes finding the right series for you can turn out to be an overwhelming process that will require a lot of trial and error.

Since Netflix is one of the biggest streaming platforms in the world, it invests a huge amount of money in making its own Netflix Original movies and series that will fuel your passion.

There is a lot of content over there, like The Last Dance, a documentary about Michael Jordan and some others all-time triple-doubles leaders by TwinSpires Edge in the NBA.

However, we are here to talk about a different genre: horror series! That’s why we’ve selected a bunch of scary series that are currently trending on Netflix.

Without further ado, let’s jump to the list of the best scary series that you must watch on Netflix right now.

Dracula

We’ve seen dozens of Dracula adaptations over the years, but this series seems to be the best. Just as Sherlock Holmes, Mark Gatiss, and Steven Moffat manage to put a fresh spin on some of the most iconic characters in Western fiction.

The series is an adaptation of the classic Bram Stoker novel and it is showcased over the course of its three 90 minute episodes.

It is an interesting and spooky watch, especially the end, which is why it is the first on our scary-series list.

Black Summer

Many people were disappointed when they heard that Syfy will cancel Z Nation, which was a very popular series in 2018. However, we still got a similar series in a new name available on Netflix. Basically, it is the anti-Walking Dead.

The series takes place at the same post-zombie-apocalyptic time that its main focus is not on character building or exploring the long-term cause for humanity. Black Summer is all about hardcore action visceral fear and battling the undead.

If you are a fan of Walking Dead, you’ll love this series.

Dark

This is a series that many people will argue to be science fiction, but it definitely sprinkles some horror at the same time. This is a German series that focuses on a town that sits on a time-travel portal.

It is a mystery that many people believe in, especially after hearing some stories about the dark things that are connected to the portal. Dark is an unsettling series that will keep you on your toes at all times, especially in the series finale.

The Haunting of Hill House

Over the years, we’ve seen many adaptations of this movie which is based on one of the best-selling horror books in history with the same name. We also have one of the best horror movies ever made that came out back in 1963 and this new adaptation comes with plenty of spooky horror mysteries.

The new adaptation is adapted very closely to the original tale, and it is focused on the Crain family that tries to renovate a creepy estate and suffers from terrible consequences.

Currently, we have The Haunting of Bly Manor, which is a follow-up series on Netflix that you should definitely check out.

American Horror Story

American Horror Story is one of the best series to watch if you want spooky, times that will scare every cell in your body at times. It is a big series that promise a lot of great horror times, and it is much different from what we are used to seeing on Netflix.

With American Horror Story, every season takes place in another corner in America and they are not connected. The best thing about AHS is that the same actors play different roles in different episodes.

It is a great series if you like a lot of freak shows, asylum, horror stories, and unveiling murder mysteries.

iZombie

If you are tired of the same old zombie genre, it is time for an update on a more advanced and technological iZombie series.

It is about a medical examiner who happens to be undead and she can only survive by eating brains and the act strikes a series of memories about the corpse which she later uses to solve crimes.

It is a spooky series that has a funny twist that we are not used to in the zombie genre.

There you have it, these are some of the best ones in the most popular streaming platform. There are some others more recent, like the Korean thriller The Squid Game, which albeit it might not be defined as horror, is definitely something that can keep the sanest person awake at night. Watch with caution!

Chewie

I've been a fan of horror and slasher movies for as long as I can remember. I consider the original Halloween to be the best horror movie of all time and my guilty pleasure horror flick would be The Exorcist III. You can find me on Twitter at @406Northlane or TikTok @406Northlane where I'm sure I'll offend you at least once a day.
