In Periphery, a troubled forensic photographer blurs the line between reality and grotesque fiction.
PERIPHERY is written and directed by Jacob Perrett. Perrett has made several films, most recently a horror film called SIGIL which premiered at the Erie Horror Festival and Salem Horror Fest.
Periphery Synopsis
Jen has been a photographer her entire life. When it comes time for her to choose a job, forensic photography seems like the most practical decision. Jen’s mind eventually turns sour after seeing one horrific sight after another. Desperate to maintain a living off of photography, but struggling to stay afloat financially, Jen develops a relationship with a wealthy married couple. Their first request is a maternity shoot. After this, the requests become… Much more disturbing. How far will Jen go to live the life of her dreams?
Periphery is a step forward for production group COMMOCITY, hoping to reach a new place in filmmaking and maturity. The screenplay doesn’t shy away from the violence and what they intend to show comes down to how much they’re able to make with a higher budget. Previous films have had a budget ranging from $300 to $2,000. With Periphery, they’re looking to reach $10,000 to make sure they can get the necessities to make this film above and beyond what they’ve done in the past.
Campaign is open until the end of June and they hope to reach our goal to really make this special. There is a wonderful Cast and Crew in line and production is set to start January 2025, with the months leading up to production full of rehearsals.
