Spotlight CEO Matt McCombs made the announcement today.

“With two strong titles premiering at EFM, DEVIL YOU KNOW with Rosamund Pike and CHLOE AND THEO with Dakota Johnson, buyers will see that Spotlight offers projects with elite level cast,” said McCombs.

THE DEVIL YOU KNOW tells the story of Zoe Hughes (Rosamund Pike), who is a struggling actress trapped in the shadows of her reclusive ex-movie star mother Kathryn Vale (Lena Olin). Zoe’s career is derailed when Kathryn attempts to make a career comeback; subsequently Kathryn begins receiving threats by an anonymous blackmailer. She must choose to confront the truth or pay the price of fame.

Sales are currently being held at the European Film Market. Spotlight Pictures’ Head of Acquisitions and U.S. Sales Carlos Rincon made the deal today along with RIVR Media’s CEO and Founder Dee Haslam on behalf of the filmmakers.

“I am thrilled to have Spotlight on board,” said Haslam.  “Their enthusiasm for the film and expertise in sales gives us confidence that the film will reach a wide international audience.”

“This film has an A-list cast and sizzling atmosphere,” adds McCombs. “We are proud to be offering this film for the first time to international distributors”

I love horror movies, and I have since I was young. My favorite genre is the zombie genre, but it has completely been overdone in the last few years. I'm not a big fan of the horror movie formula, and I love it when a director turns it on its head.
