by I’m typically not a fan of found footage horror films. That said, every now and then I run across a trailer that catches my interest and this is certainly one of them. Producer / writer Jacob Kyle Young reached out the other day and I’m glad that he did.
His upcoming film Dead Voices will get its release on July 7, 2020, distributed by High Octane Pictures. The film was directed by William Butler, best known for directing, writing, and producing MADHOUSE, which made over $22MM at the box office. It stars Lochlyn Munro (RIVERDALE, SCARY MOVIE, FREDDY VS. JASON), Lauren Albo, Angelica Briones and Jacob Kyle Young and has been described as “BLAIR WITCH PROJECT meets THE SHINING“.
Dead Voices Synopsis
Two sisters film a documentary about spiritual mediums. After their first failed attempt with a faux medium, they come across Mike, a seemingly legitimate communicator with the dead. Mike reveals a disturbing mystery; Sara’s fiancée, Lucas, long thought to have died, might be alive at his childhood home. Mike joins the girls as dark secrets and horrific events follow.
