When I was younger, there was always a rumor of a haunted house (not far from us) that required a waiver to enter. Once inside, the staff could scare you in any way they pleased (including grabbing you, holding you, etc.). The mere thought of attending this house churned my stomach, and I’m still not sure if it was an urban legend or not.
Well, somebody’s been reading my memories as a new film has just wrapped production from Lone Suspect. Fear, Inc follows a group a people willing to bring your greatest fears to life…for a price. It’s directed by Vincent Masciale and written by Luke Barnett (who are better known for their web series The Walking Fred on Funny or Die. There’s many familiar faces here from television and more.
I’m both excited and terrified at the premise.
Fear, Inc. Commences Production In Los Angeles
LOS ANGELES, Aug. 6, 2015 –Lone Suspect announces that production will commence today in Los Angeles on its latest feature film FEAR, INC. Written by Luke Barnett and directed by Vincent Masciale, who are best known for their viral videos on Will Ferrell’s “Funny or Die,” the film stars Lucas Neff (“Raising Hope”), Caitlin Stasey (TV’s “Reign”), Chris Marquette (ALPHA DOG) and Stephanie Drake (“Mad Men”). The supporting cast is rounded out with Naomi Grossman (“American Horror Story”), Ashlynn Yennie (THE HUMAN CENTIPEDE), Patrick Renna (THE SANDLOT), Ronnie Gene Blevins (THE DARK KNIGHT RISES) and Richard Riehle (OFFICE SPACE).
Luke Barnett, Vincent Masciale along with Heather Kasprzak and Natalie Masciale are producing FEAR, INC. under their Lone Suspect banner. Gabriel Cowan and John Suits of New Artists Alliance as well as Tanner Thomason and Frank Masciale are executive producing the film.
FEAR, INC. follows a company of degenerates who can be hired for a premium to bring your greatest fears to life. But when horror junkie Joe Foster’s customized scare seemingly begins, he and his friends must decide if this company is there to scare them, or make them pawns in their own sick game.
“With the self referential humor of films like SCREAM and CABIN IN THE WOODS and our background with Funny or Die, the goal is to add a large comedic element to the dark material,” said director Vincent Masciale.

Lone Suspect is a Los Angeles based production company founded by Vincent Masciale and Luke Barnett. Last year Barnett executive produced LOITERING WITH INTENT (Marisa Tomei and Sam Rockwell) and the duo created Funny or Die’s “Walking Dead” recap series, “The Walking Fred“, which was nominated for two Streamy Awards. Their topical comedy videos on the site have touched on everything from “Game of Thrones” to “The Newsroom”.
