The Enormity of Life To Debut on April 6th

Being a Cleveland guy this one is near and dear to my heart as it was filmed here and other than the three main stars, the film used talent and crew exclusively from Northeast Ohio. Trying to get my hands on a screener now – stay tuned!

Enormity of Life Still

Feature Movie Filmed In Cleveland Premiering Next Month on Apple TV and Other Streaming Platforms

The Enormity of Life Written, Directed and Produced by Cleveland-Area Native and Starring Brekin Meyer and Emily Kinney to Debut on April 6th

CLEVELAND, OHIO (MARCH 1ST, 2021) – The new feature movie, The Enormity of Life, is as Cleveland as they come. Written, directed and produced by Cleveland-area native Eric Swinderman; filmed throughout Northeast Ohio; songs from Cleveland artists; even an appearance by a popular Cleveland clothier t-shirt. Audiences in Ohio and everywhere can watch the movie from Shoreline Entertainment and Anhedonia Pictures, LLC when it debuts on Apple TV, Google Play, FandagoNOW and Vimeo on Demand on Tuesday, April 6th.

The Enormity of Life stars Breckin Meyer (Clueless, Road Trip), Emily Kinney (The Walking Dead, The Flash) and Giselle Eisenberg (Life in Pieces, American Housewife). The rest of the cast and majority of crew were all from the Northeast Ohio area. The dark comedy features modern storytelling of an emotionally despondent man (Meyer) on the brink of suicide who unexpectedly receives a large inheritance and meets a quirky single mother (Kinney) and her eccentric young daughter (Eisenberg).

“This was a very powerful and challenging project from script to screen,” said Meyer. “It’s always a risk when you’re dealing with such polarizing subjects but hopefully this film can help encourage communication in regards to mental illness and seeking help.”

Together the three embark on a journey of hope and healing. It is a tender comedy about misery and a heart-wrenching drama about the things that make us reluctantly laugh.

“The film addresses mental illness and gun violence and the impact both have on our friends, family and the girl next door,” said director Swinderman. “The cast – particularly Meyer, Kinney and Eisenberg – bring the nuanced performances needed to carry both the lighthearted and serious moments in a balanced and real way. Certainly, due to COVID-19, it’s a challenging time to release a film, but I’m happy audiences will get to see each of these talented individuals in these roles.”

Filming took place in many locations across Northeast Ohio – including Middleburg Heights, Lakewood, Elyria, Beachwood, Lorain, Cleveland, North Royalton and Medina – with sites varying from private homes to hospitals to diners.

“I absolutely love bringing big films to Cleveland,” said Swinderman. “The businesses and people of Northeast Ohio are so welcoming and make the entire process so easy. Plus I love to showcase the hometown I’m so proud of and I can’t wait for Cleveland to see its close-up!”

Other Cleveland highlights in the film include songs from natives By Light We Loom and John Kalman, as well as Meyer’s character donning an “I Liked Cleveland Before It Was Cool” t-shirt from locally-based CLE Clothing Co.

Shoreline Entertainment CEO Sam Eigen is proud to present the film to a wide audience. “We are thrilled to represent such an incredible film with such a notable cast,” said Eigen. “Eric Swinderman did a fantastic job directing and we feel audiences will really connect with the story.”

I've been a fan of horror and slasher movies for as long as I can remember. I consider the original Halloween to be the best horror movie of all time and my guilty pleasure horror flick would be The Exorcist III.
