Puppet Combo has been hard at work adapting their minimum wage horror classic Night Shift into a full-length feature film! All alone on your shift… or ARE you?
First launched in 2018, Night Shift has players tending to a desolate convenience store while a masked killer lurks somewhere in the shadows. Loved by gamers and Let’s Players alike, the game helped spawn a wave of indie horror titles, including The Convenience Store and Happy’s Humble Burger Farm.
Now, a chilling reimagining of the game is headed to the big screen! Written and directed by Puppet Combo creator Ben Cocuzza, Night Shift follows DEBRA, a young woman played by Adrianne Knapp, as she works the overnight shift at a minimum wage gas station job. What begins as routine shelf-stocking and floor-sweeping quickly spirals into a heart-pounding descent into paranoia, dread, and blood-soaked madness.
Shot on 16mm film, the movie will stay true to Puppet Combo’s signature VHS-style aesthetic, and obsessive attention to detail for a true 80’s slasher style experience. Expect grainy textures, the creeping fear of being watched, and all the hallmarks of the Puppet Combo universe.
The cast also includes Justin West (Ghost Hunters), Phu Mau, Donald Morgan, and cameo appearances from YouTube legends Justin Whang and John Wolfe.
Currently in post-production, the film is slated for a theatrical release. It’s produced by Maggie Brown, known for her diverse work spanning corporate Hollywood to indie festival hits.
Night Shift hits theaters in October 2025! Follow Puppet Combo on Instagram @puppetcombovideo or Twitter X @puppetcombo for the latest updates.
