ST Interviews ‘Possession of Michael King’s’ Tomas Arana

Since I’ve started writing here last year, I’ve conducted multiple interviews with directors and actors.  I usually request an email interview as I am more comfortable writing.  I don’t like the sound of my voice, and when I’m speaking to many actors, I become much more self aware of this.

Tomas Arana

Well, I completed my first telephone interview.  The film The Possession of Michael King hits theaters today, and with it, I got to interview seasoned actor Tomas Arana.  Tomas is renowned in the art world as he was both friends with and posed for Andy Warhol.  His acting career has taken him from the stage to the screen.  He was Whitney Houston’s character’s would be assassin in The Bodyguard.  He played Quintus in Gladiator.  He just appeared in the summer’s biggest hit Guardians of the Galaxy.

SYNOPSIS: Michael King (Shane Johnson) doesn’t believe in God or The Devil. Following the sudden death of his wife, the documentary filmmaker decides to make his next film about the search for the existence of the supernatural. Michael decides to make himself the center of the experiment – allowing demonologists, necromancers, and various practitioners of the occult to try the deepest and darkest spells and rituals they can find on him – in the hopes that when they fail, he’ll once and for all have proof that religion, spiritualism, and the paranormal are nothing more than myth. But something does happen. An evil and horrifying force has taken over Michael King. And it will not let him go. Dale Dickey (IRON MAN 3), Tomas Arana (GLADIATOR), and Julie McNiven (“Mad Men”) co-star in this intense supernatural spine-tingler from the producers of WHITE NOISE and THE HAUNTING IN CONNECTICUT.

I love horror movies, and I have since I was young. My favorite genre is the zombie genre, but it has completely been overdone in the last few years. I'm not a big fan of the horror movie formula, and I love it when a director turns it on its head.
