How Far Would You Go For Views?
In this day and age, social media is everything. It is where you can build your “life” that you want people to see. People want to be known, recognized, and followed. YouTube is a place where you can gain all of that, and make money while doing it. We have all seen the rise and fall of members of the YouTube community, and we all know which part gets noticed the most……
Which brings me to the latest creation called The 16th Episode. Watch the trailer below for an idea of what this movie brings to the table, and continue reading for my review
Three YouTubers, each with their own inner demons, visit the mythical town of Casablanca. With their viewership down, they get invited to attend a satanic ritual and soon realize that maybe all their audience wants is to see them die. This film is written and directed by Jérôme Cohen-Olivar (The Midnight Orchestra, Kandisha), THE 16TH EPISODE (previously known as LITTLE HORROR MOVIE) stars Cody Heuer (The Shoe), Rebecca Ramon (The Violet Blaze Chronicles) and Einar Kuusk (Chasing Ponies).
My Review:
The movie begins with a look into the content that the YouTuber Group called Permanent Residents creates. They are a group of people who visit various cities and immerse themselves in the culture. Behind the scenes not all is well. We see the characters disagree and argue, due to the stress of their lowering views, and differing personalities. Their next visit takes them to the mythical city Casablanca. But here you won’t find Humphrey Bogart, only conspiring villagers and eternal damnation.
I liked this movie because it was filmed through the camera of one of the members of Permanent Residents, as well as through traditional techniques. The acting was enjoyable, and it had a great story-line. Possession movies have been made countless times, but this was unique. I would definitely recommend this movie for people to watch. I would also recommend this for the many YouTubers going to extreme lengths to get their views.
This film will be available for viewing On Demand and in select theaters.
Happy Haunting!
